No need to misspell words, we already know you are dumb because you don't know what the word Atheist means. I could not care less what you think is immoral. This debate shows you are dumb. 100% of Atheists don't believe in God because if you don't believe in God you are an Atheist by definition.

immoralit and rong for a person to believe.

Why is it immoral and wrong? Because you think it is immoral and wrong to not believe in God. Saying a good portion don't believe in God makes you dumb when all of them don't.

The guy could also mean "why do a lot of people not believe in god?".

He doesn't, I saw his other posts. He said some Atheists believe in God.

I've debated with a lot of atheists. They want their own certain type of proof to believe in God. Most atheists that I've talked to have said that if God revealed Himself to them then they would believe.

I think a big part of the problem is people mistake knowledge for wisdom. Without a doubt the average 21st century human is more knowledgable than a 1st century person, but that doesn't mean you are any wiser. Atheists see humanity as just emerging into intelligence, considering all beliefs of past generations to be invalidated by time. Reality is that humanity is in decay. Mankind is becoming more violent, dysfunctional, and destructive. Meanwhile, progress and advancement is considered to be eternally linked with the discarding of long established belief systems. Whatever is new is better, whatever is old is shunned.

Someday, I think many people in this generation will recognize their error. New conflicts will emerge in our society to the bewilderment of the aging population. Soon enough, we will be the old crows trying to explain morality to sophomores who refuse to listen, but pride will prevent us from confessing our own mistakes and the cycle will continue.

What is coming is unavoidable. To paraphrase captain Spears from the Band of Brothers. You are already dead. The sooner you realize that the sooner you can function as a soldier.

You got some sources to back that up? Because as far as I know, things such as literacy and life expectancy have only been increasing.

Because they focus only on the least intelligent conceptions of god.

= the conception in which God exists as a god.

Does a particular popular description of something determine it's actual nature?

The only requirement to be an atheist is to not believe in god. So it's not "a good portion", it's all atheists.

1 point

because they're atheists? am i missing something here?

oh actually, all atheists prefer not to believe in god.

For the most part is because I don't see any evidence that he exists but also I really really hope he doesn't. So even if there were evidence I'd probably reject it through fear. Personally, I can't fathom the idea that a creator could be so evil as to do the things the Bible said he did. I can't imagine what it must be like to worship such a malevolent creature.

You have already did that.

God is a just God. Do not confuse that with evil.

He has committed acts which I consider evil: drowning the whole world Genesis 7:21-23; helping to kill 500,000 people 2 Chronicles 13:15-18; killing 40,000 of those that complained that too many of them were being killed Numbers 16:41-49; killing all Egyptian first borns Exodus 12:29..... need I go on?
