Why do conservatives oppose healthcare?
Such social services are great, providing there are those who are prepared to pay for the treatment of the under classes. Contributing towards such a scheme should be voluntary with those willing to donate part of their hard earned dosh signing an agreement to do so. Those who do not wish to have deductions made from their salary to support this scheme should not be forced to contribute. Any law making contributions compulsory would be no more than State sponsored gangsterism. 2

I don't think there is a single individual who opposes the concept of affordable healthcare, there are just those who oppose different methods of obtaining it (or, as they will most likely see it, ways to fail at attaining it). For someone who decries others mischaracterizing your beliefs, you are borderline maliciously mischaracterizing the beliefs of others. 1

Why do conservatives oppose health-care? Conservatives don't oppose health-care, they only oppose every one having it. Conservatives hide behind such titles as privatization which is simply everything being corporate owned instead of state or federally operated. Let me give you an example: If your last name was Rockefeller; Would you want everybody to buy gasoline for $0.75 per gallon? 1
