Why is America Picking on North Korea?

It's clear and obvious that America is the aggressor and provoking North Korea on a daily basis with threats
of nuclear invasion.  If ANY country was being threaten by the world superpower of nuclear attack, would you not
feel threatened and feel the need to continue to develop nuclear weapons for protection and self-sovereignty?

It is America that is camping out on the door steps of NK, not the other way.  You don't see any NK military installments or bases near American soil do you?  You don't see any NK planes or warships flying over and sailing around California do you? If you do, please show me some proof or evidence.   In fact, NK has done nothing and does nothing to merit being threatened and bullied constantly by America.

I'm amazed at how easily people in America can't think for themselves and just follow what Fox and CNN says about "evil North Korea".  Here are some typical answers about North Korea:
-crazy leader / unstable leader (really? as oppose to Obama or Hillary?)
-they are going to nuke America (really? has NK attacked anyone ever since the Korean War? Nope).
-they are a threat to American security (really? How? America said that about Russia and China in the past...the only real
threat is your own corrupt government and muslim extremism as there have already been actual cases of terrorist attacks and Americans deaths.  How many attacks has there been from NK?  ZERO.  How many US civilian deaths has there been due to NK terrorism? ZERO.  NK doesn't even live or exist in America.  Yet US propaganda machine keeps making movies about how NK will invade America and nuke America blah blah blah)

If a country came up to you and said the only way you can be friends with us is to completely disarm yourselves (basically, surrender yourselves) would you be so inclined to do so?  I think not.

NK has every right to have self-sovereignty and if they are being threatened by the US, they have the right to defend themselves whether with nuclear arms or other weapons.  It's no different than any other nation on this planet.  But I'm not sure why Americans even enjoy calling NK evil and hate on them when NK hasn't even done a thing to Americans but Muslims have attacked and killed tens of thousands of americans already both on american soil and abroad.

Lastly, people will use the excuse, "NK's humanitarian crimes" is the reason why they hate Kim Jong Un and the "regime".  LOL, really?  99.9% of Americans wouldn't give a rat's ass what happens to people in NK.  It's none of their business.  America has its own crimes, injustices, racism, corruption, to deal with.  It's silly when people use the excuse that the reason why they vilify NK is due to humanitarian crimes.

I was going to get into this debate, but after a full reading all I've concluded is that you have no understanding about North Korea or the happenings in said country.

Just wondering if people on the right can debate something and not somehow tie it to "Obama's incompetency".

Plenty of that can. Only about 2 of them are on this website, however.

It's a shame, you could have made this into a legitimately good premise, but instead too much time was spent either A. Not knowing the actual details of the situation, and B. trying to use the situation for political commentary on other situations, generally without any reasonable context.

Let's take it piece by piece: It's clear and obvious that America is the aggressor and provoking North Korea on a daily basis with threats of nuclear invasion.

No, America does not threaten "nuclear invasion". Oh, and "nuclear invasion" isn't a thing.

If ANY country was being threaten by the world superpower of nuclear attack, would you not

feel threatened and feel the need to continue to develop nuclear weapons for protection and self-sovereignty?

We are threatening them over their development of nuclear weapons. The initial reason we had threatened them a while back was when they kept calling for the destruction of South Korea.

It is America that is camping out on the door steps of NK, not the other way.

Actually we aren't. China and SK are "camping out on the doorsteps of NK", and we just happen to be good allies with SK and don't want them to undergo a genocide.

You don't see any NK military installments or bases near American soil do you?

You don't see any NK military anything outside of NK because the international community would go ape-shit.

You don't see any NK planes or warships flying over and sailing around California do you?

No, but we regularly see missile tests designed to strike SK and the U.S.. You don't need planes or warships for ICBMs.

In fact, NK has done nothing and does nothing to merit being threatened and bullied constantly by America.

Again, they call for the destruction of one of our closest allies all the time, and regularly call for sending nuclear weapons towards the United States.

I'm amazed at how easily people in America can't think for themselves and just follow what Fox and CNN says about "evil North Korea". Here are some typical answers about North Korea:

-crazy leader / unstable leader (really? as oppose to Obama or Hillary?)

Name one thing either Obama or Hillary has done that compares to Kim Jong Un (or his father, or his grandfather) calling for nuclear strikes on South Korea. Or siphoning off so much money from their weak economy to live a lavish lifestyle while their people starve to death. Or imprisoning foreign citizens in actual death camps.

-they are going to nuke America (really? has NK attacked anyone ever since the Korean War? Nope)

Of course not, they haven't had the capacity to do so. The only "ally" they have is China, and even the Kim family knows that the second they launch a war of aggression, the entire world will rally against them.

-they are a threat to American security (really? How? America said that about Russia and China in the past.

When you put nuclear weapons in the hands of unstable totalitarians, world peace is put at risk. As for Russia and China, considering how both have performed countless cyber-warfare attacks on us, they are a threat to American security. Mind you were are also a threat to their security, that's just kind of how it works with competing super-powers who aren't allies.

the only real threat is your own corrupt government

Government corruption in the United States is marginal compared to the country we are talking about.

and muslim extremism

Muslim extremism has killed such an infinitesimally small number of Americans and poses no legitimate threat to the continuity of the United States as a country.

as there have already been actual cases of terrorist attacks and Americans deaths.

That doesn't mean it's the only threat.

How many attacks has there been from NK? ZERO.

See above.

Yet US propaganda machine keeps making movies about how NK will invade America and nuke America blah blah blah)

How is providing the actual quotes from the Kim family "propaganda...movies"?

If a country came up to you and said the only way you can be friends with us is to completely disarm yourselves (basically, surrender yourselves) would you be so inclined to do so? I think not.

If you go around saying you want to kill your neighbor, people are going to disarm you.

NK has every right to have self-sovereignty and if they are being threatened by the US, they have the right to defend themselves whether with nuclear arms or other weapons.

I don't think anyone actually disagrees that they have the right of self-sovereignty. But again, they call for waging a genocidal war against an American ally. No shit we don't want them to have nukes to, you know, level Seoul to the ground?

It's no different than any other nation on this planet. But I'm not sure why Americans even enjoy calling NK evil and hate on them when NK hasn't even done a thing to Americans but Muslims have attacked and killed tens of thousands of americans already both on american soil and abroad.

Even if you factor in 9/11 and every Islamic terrorist attack since, you get less than 10,000 casualties. It's this basic ignorance of the facts that makes your debate prompt so problematic.

Lastly, people will use the excuse, "NK's humanitarian crimes" is the reason why they hate Kim Jong Un and the "regime". LOL, really? 99.9% of Americans wouldn't give a rat's ass what happens to people in NK.

And those 99.9% of people don't give a rats ass about NK at all. You are already talking about the .01% of people who pay attention to NK, and it's safe to say of that .01%, a decent number of people have some basic human decency.

It's none of their business. America has its own crimes, injustices, racism, corruption, to deal with. It's silly when people use the excuse that the reason why they vilify NK is due to humanitarian crimes.

No, it really isn't. When a totalitarian family has a regime that puts its citizens in death camps, it's safe to criticize that. When they put their country in a state of complete and utter famine, it's safe to criticize that. When said country runs heavily on illegal, black-market drug exportation which is state-sanctioned, it is safe to criticize that.

Now, I understand you don't seem to know much about what actually happens in NK, and what their foreign relations history is. But that means you should do more research on it, rather than just insulting those who hold opinions you don't understand.

Sorry IAmSparticus. I stopped reading your reply at the very first sentence when you said, "America does not threaten nuclear invasion".

Wow, talk about not knowing your facts. Your own so-called President (Obama) said it right from his mouth threatening North Korea with nuclear invasion. In fact, he even said that they would wipe them out if it had to come to it.

Obama said it, not me. I think you also need to know the details of the situation my friend.

Again, "nuclear invasion" isn't a thing. Those are two words that, when out together, mean nothing.

Now how about you don't be an asshole and read the rest of the post.

Because we didn't get our way in the Korean War and we're still sulking about it.

America is "picking on" North Korea, because it (NK) is ruled by a power-hungry idiot who constantly poses a nuclear threat to nearby countries. America's current leaders are total asshats, we all get that, but they're sane when compared to NK, whose leaders constantly dream of the destruction of the US and all "imperialist capitalist pigs" standing against "True Korea".

You guys have failed to provide any proof or evidence of NK attacking America, killing Americans, both on American soil or foreign soil.

You guys have ZERO evidence of any claims America makes which we all know that America is a giant propaganda machine making country. Just look at what America has done in the Middle East.

The same idiots who were 100% wrong going there are the same idiots trying to convince you americans to go into NK and bomb them. Idiots.

Lastly, what threat? NK doesn't threaten anyone. Ask South Korea, ask Japan, ask China, ask Russia, all directly adjacent to NK and none of them actually feel threatened or live in fear and panic of NK. That's because America's propaganda media makes up all the BS you hear and see.

Show me some proof that NK is threatening anyone. I'm not talking about words as threats, I'm talking about actual military incursions, installments, operations, invasions...... ZERO.

USA? How about this for facts: 900 military bases installed all over the globe occupying 80 countries, and nearly 250,000 military troops deployed globally. NK has 0 bases, occupying 0 countries, deploying 0 military troops in your countries. Now who the hell is the aggressor?

Only those who are drinking the US Koolaid would actually think that NK is a threat and the US is not? har har.

I have a gift and none of your lies can make the truth untrue. I know what is the truth and what isn't. Trump SHOULD be the next President, but Hillary, the pathological liar and puppet will win because the system is corrupt and the system is rigged. I was right about Obama, too, but I won't get into that.

Also to clarify because I know what some of you were about to say, NK reacts and says all the shit and stupid things they say not because they really want to do it or going to do it, but because when you or anyone is being threatened by a bully, who isn't going to retaliate and counter the intimidation tactics? NK clearly stated that they are ONLY developing nuclear weapons for PROTECTION of their self-sovereign state. What is wrong with that? Every country has the right to protect itself from foreign invaders and enemies. NK even stated at the beginning of 2016, that they wanted to develop stronger ties with SK and the international community and be contributors. How did the US react to those statements? They gave them an ultimatum to surrender or face further sanctions and alienation. So who the hell is bullying who? Open your eyes if you have any for your children's sake.

As I stated in my opening, this sort of discussion always ends up with pro-American idiots who fail to provide any reasonable and logical discussion other than to say the same regurgitated BS that the US media spews into your heads everyday such as:

"He's a brutal dictator!"

"He's unstable!"

"He's insane!"

Like, really? That's all you can comeback with? Can't you discuss something with some intelligence and reason? This is evidence enough to prove that there is a real case here because everyone likes to just cover it up with those silly childish remarks rather than to actually answer any of the real questions.

I can see through it all.
