Why is EDUCATION always the answer??

Whenever a problem arrives or a very small group of people do something.. people always want to 'increase education' or blame things on 'lack of education' and say these things wouldn't have happened if they were 'educated'. I admit that ignorance does play a part in problems but it's limited.

Racist people are ignorant. But very educated people can be racist aswell. So just because you're racist, doesn't mean you're ignorant. It's your way of thinking.. believing yourself to be superior, God-like etc. That has nothing to do with education.. and you can educated a person as much as you want.. his/her mentality will always remain. However if you reform their thoughts and make them in a certain way so that they are not racist anymore isn't that a form of brainwashing??

When 1,000 kids around Britain have underage sex, the answer is to educate them. Now there's probably a million (iunno - waaaay more than before). Partly to do with better statistics, partly because more kids are open about it.. but more so I blame education aswell as other reasons.

UK is on of the most education part of the world, yet it is also the most obese, wasteful, least resourceful etc. The answer is education will stop this. NO IT FUCKING WONT!! GRRR!!

Education is helpful when it comes to sciences and arts and certain other things. But personal, social, health etc. (lol PSHE) shouldn't be acknowledged through education

So is education the answer or is the answer not education (but something else)??

Education can also be propaganda and brain-washing. So it's not ALWAYS the answer.

But basic education is necessary.

Also, individualism is very important. Teach people to fend for themselves or die. Teach people not to be dependent on a higher power, and take away any encouragement of such dependency.

That's another good answer.

I'm not for the individualism part. People in individualist nations tend to be less self sufficient and more dependent on higher powers than those in collectivist countries.

But I do agree that education does tend to be propaganda and brainwashing. Even maths and sciences are based on euro-centric histories. History is also eurocentric, but that's obviously OK since you wouldn't want to be learning about the history of Saudi Arabia when you live in w/e country... but it's when they say that a European was the first to do this and that when he obviously wasn't. Religious studies was the one that pissed me off the most.. specially when they were 'teaching' 'Hinduism'. BUT what I'm pissed off about now is how nearly every single year we studied Christianit and Judaism like they were the only 2 religions in the fucking world. Christianity I get, but why Judaism?? We barely touched upon Islam... learnt some BS on Hinduism... Touched upon Buddhism... and scratched on Sikhism.. nothing on taoism or confunacism.

Really annoying.......

I don't think education is the answer

I would say social reform is drastically needed with the biggest problem being greed in the hearts of men. Obviously going into detail into how to stop underage sex, obesity, racism etc. each seperately is an issue.. but I definately don't think it's just 'education'.

HOWEVER!! I may be wrong in my definition of education and teaching people in any form is education.

Educations is not 100% but it helps a lot just like money, in today's world sometimes is who you know not what you know. Plus some of the most educated people does some of the dumbest things.

However, without education the internet would not be what it is today. Thanks to Educations/Knowledge for that.

You have to look a lot further than just the U.K. Look at all the countries in the world. Which countries have societies that you would like to live in? The educated countries or the uneducated countries? In other words, if you think education is so bad, try ignorance and then come tell me which one you like better ;)

Well that's defo a good point.. but my point is to argue how people always think education is an answer to solve people's problems in DEVELOPED countries. Obviously basic education i.e. maths sciences languages should be in every country but I'm focusing on PSHE and why it's schools that need to teach it and not parents or family.

Education is key. If you have no sense of knowledge, you'll follow any propoganda. Seek the truth, through all means necessary. Keep an open mind, take away all pejudiced and learn to listen, weigh out the information and you make the final judgement. May you be blessed on your journey towards truth and love.
