Will humanity be able to control A.I. or will it be our doom?
AI will never "spell doom" in the way that you seem to imply. Like, taking over the world. Or one day controlling us. No. Instead, the only way AI will bring problems is that our over-dependence on it, as well as on other forms of cyber intelligence and social media, will make us even lazier and less motivated to do things and learn things ourselves. In much the same way video games and the like have helped exacerbate the childhood obesity problem. But as far as AI somehow evolving to really "think" and to take us over. No. At the end of the day, computers are merely tools. And always will be. The AI programs are simply another form of computer and software programming. Programmed by US! They do not actually "live" nor are they on any way biolgically capable of evolving the way us humans have. As a biologist, I am all too aware of the fact that AI is woefully bereft of the requisite capabilities to evolve into higher life forms. Oh....that sort of stuff is maybe fun to think about, and is good fodder for sci fi movies and novels. But that's about it. Hope this helps. SS 1

I think the word artificial intelligence itself clarifies the topic. the word refers to intelligence not foolishness. It is only the mechanism that analyses past datas or encoded datas to act in the same or planned ways to make it easier for us that we won't need to program it again and again. A.I. is just for our comfort and help. the thought of it becoming aagainst us can only be a hit story for a sci fi movie |
