The end of the world is such an inconvenience that it has been postponed many times. I mean, I don't know about you but my schedule is full. I don't have time to fit in the end of the world ;)

Sigh Collapse? I think the real question is whether Humanity will collapse by 2012 as a result of its current attidue. The Earth can't collapse on itself unless there was some unknow force of gravity in its core that suddenly felt like awaking.

Stop making references to the Mayans people! The only thing that's going to end on their calander is a cycle that it goes through periodically. The whole "End of the world" thing was just a rumor that credible scientists had nothing to do with.

Now if "our" world were to "end" in 2012, I could think of a couple things that could happen within a small span of time. Events from meteors (wouldn't be the first time, look where Mexico City is built) to Solar flares (the Sun has been quite the fireball for the past decade); however, I suggest all you misanthropes don't get your hopes up too soon, becuase I am hardly ever wrong :p

It is now 2015 and the world is still here and it will still be here in 2112.

You know how many people said the world was going to end in 2000 and also on 6/6/06, yet we are still here.

The Mayans are suggesting that the world is going to end in 2012, but NASA sees different. They found no evidence that anything catastrophic will happen except larger than normal solar flares. If anything was going to happen, you think that they would actually inform the public.
