OK, I have to say something ;)

The problem with wise men is that they tend to lack common sense and can't figure out simple stuff like how to have more relevant debates on CD.

If you want more relevant debates and you want to argue with "intellectuals," then create more relevant debates and ban the "non-intellectuals." You can start by banning those on the "Weekly Leader Board."

You wont stop stupid people from putting in their two cents but if they are not on the weekly leader board then there's a lower chance that they will contribute.

Alternatively, create a private debate and invite those you consider to be intellectuals. Although I suspect that these so called intellectuals are just more people that think like you and support your world view. Which wont make it much of a debate but hey, at least you'll get stroked ;)

This isn't rocket science! Use a little common sense.  Jeez!

Wise men lack common sense, this may be true. I like to call my sense, uncommon. The difference between the nature of common and uncommon sense comes from an individuals capability to trust common sense. I can't, I don't like to, because I want to know what is true and what is not. Information is personal for me, I don't want tainted information and a lot of people don't take care of their information. Common sense, like the Bible, tends to back it's information with the number of people that share it, or the number of people that accept it. Uncommon sense is tested common sense, or common sense with more sense in it than common.

Common sense is where you get stereotypes and ideas of that kind. Read up on some popular philosophical work and you'll quickly find that "intellectuals" don't share this kind of sense. They don't think the same thoughts, they rarely agree about anything, but they all have the ability to think outside of the common.

I think this is directed at me because you've taken a quote from my argument about this topic and turned it into a question. I don't know about everyone else here, but all I want is the community to grow. Be a little more serious, do some real research more than once in a great while.

What's the point of arguing with a select few? I came to the internet... but that doesn't mean I should expect to find 99% of every site to be ignorant... I mean, I've found better talks on 99chan's /ph/ board than I've ever seen here... that's that's an image board.

That's great Bradf0rd....Why not give us a great debate to kick it off and ban those you feel are not worthy of your intellect...which can be questionable in some areas. The debates here and now don't require much looking up now do they? You answer what's given, for good or for bad. My IQ is 183...there's intellectual since it came from MENSA itself. You've insulted everyone on that leader board who tries so hard to continue to debate even the most minute of topics. That's not nice, or fair.

Stop pandering to your emotions. Just because you're one of many on that list that were seemingly targeted for the sake of an example doesn't mean that you need to turn me into an enemy. My opinion is valid and I'm not sorry for sharing it.

It wasn't my idea to start debates that no one [here] would want to participate in, and then ban the few people that say nothing constantly. The debates here and now do require research, but not for the careless, which I am too, because the work involved isn't worth it anymore...

It's funny you mention how hard people try here... trying so hard to continue to debate "minute topics" that are chosen by the people trying so hard! And then I expect people to do research...

Yeah, maybe I expect too much of people :(

Maybe I'm just an elitist faggot that only debates to insult everyone that tries because deep down inside I know that if I were to try as hard I would fail so miserably that I would dishonor my friends and family and have no other choice but to kill myself. -_-

OK, fair enough. I believe you when you say, "all I want is the community to grow." I'll give you that and up vote you. But I request you lead by example. By that I mean that I don't really know what it is that you consider a good debate. So I request an example. In other words, I'm not being flipant. I'm being honest.

I dont think real Wise men chill on CD and post debates and add arguments, just people who want to be considered Wise men...and of course people who are bored. :P
