Women enjoy different rights from men, but not be any means, less. Society puts pressure on males to be forgiving and gentlemanly to women. Males are expected to give way to women, give them artificial advantage such as paying for dates, helping them in physical tasks, etc. Women also usually get the benefit of the doubt and many people often side with them especially in assault cases as there is often a stronger stereotype that males are the perverted gender. Nicole: As Victoria Shannon reports, a Pew Research Center study found that despite affirmations that the sexes should be treated equally, people do believe that men should receive preferential treatment in some cases: People around the world say they firmly support equal rights for men and women, but many still believe men should get preference when it comes to good jobs, higher education or even in some cases the simple right to work outside the home, according to a new survey of 22 nations. The poll, conducted in April and May by the Pew Research Center’s Global Attitudes Project in association with the International Herald Tribune, shows that in both developing countries and wealthy ones, there is a pronounced gap between a belief in the equality of the sexes and how that translates into reality. This is over generalisation because the fact that there are less famous females does not mean that males are better than females. The situation is such that women live in a patriarchal society and they have less opportunities to shine, and males often have an advantage simply due to their gender. Regardless of this, there are in fact many famous women who hacve done well in their field. 1. Whitney Houston- Music industry 2. Hillary Clinton- Politics 3. Mother Teresa- Humanitarianism 4. Serena Williams- Sports 5. JK Rowling- Literature 6. Meg Whitman- Business (eBay CEO) Therefore it can be argued that despite the restrictions and glass ceilings that women face, the fact that they are still able to rise to high postions and achieve success in life show that women are in fact better than females. Hence although women enjoy less rights than men, it is not a huge hindrance to their path to success. Side: will enjoy the same rights

Women are not given the same amount of power in the political field. This is evident in the major percentage of male population in most parliaments. Women are not given much opportunities to take on leadership roles as women are perceived to have other responsibilities such as being homemakers. In addition, they themselves have limited ambitions, hence they do not pursue high positions in the society. Side: will not enjoy the same rights
For as long as we are on this earth, I strongly feel as if women will always be considered less significant than men. UNLESS, an opposing force poses as a threat to humanity, eliminating issues like sexism, racism, homophobia, etc. As we may all have to band together in order to survive. Side: will not enjoy the same rights
