Working with partners

IN many schools teachers like kids to work in groups or partners and so on, but what if a kid wants to work alone. Most teachers don't give a choice in it and they have to work in this situation. There are some kids that just cant work well with other people and the kid may not even like to be with other people. The students should have a say whether they want to work alone or with someone. Agree or disagree please give reasons and/or examples.

As a young male undiagnosed with dyslexia I found it very difficult learning school material so being forced to mix and join in with groups was very difficult for me because the capability of being in a group is not always equal.

I was not given a choice and was victimised by the teachers and other children for something I had no control over.

Working in groups for kids with autism and dyslexia is hard and teachers need to be able to offer them an alternative.

I can solve this a lot easier than you're making it. There is one simple solution to the kids with these disabilities. Instead of pairing up with the normal kids, we should be using them to their full potential. I say we gather up all the defective kids and send them back to where they came from. I think the parents should sue the storks who brought a defective kid. Whoever is making these mistakes at the Kid Factory in the clouds should be fired. I taught my 2 kids Kyle and Charles to always laugh at them because it makes them go away and not spread the stupid syndrome.

The lesson to be learned is the cooperation and collaboration skills that are needed in most work situations. Introverts will do better having these skills than otherwise.

I would further ask- how many career paths are there that never, at any point, require teamwork or collaboration?

If a kid is disinclined towards teamwork and collaboration, all the more reason to make him do it.

Even the biggest introvert in the most solitary career path will have to collaborate with others.
