Would a Universe Full of Life Diminish our God?

Many if not most scientists in the field of Cosmology and Astronomy believe that it is quite likely our Universe is teeming with Life. With Intelligent Life. And that we are just one civilization out of perhaps Millions. Indeed, when one becomes aware of all the candidate planets for life, it does seem to be a good bet. A recent Cosmologist who did the Math reckoned that if one out of a Billion planets had life and one out of Billion of THOSE had intelligent life, well, that would still leave Billions of Intelligent ET Civilizations out there.
So here is my Question: suppose for a moment that tomorrow we DID discover for sure that there ARE others out there. Would this diminish the notion of our God as we know Him from the Bible? That is, since the Bible says Nothing about others, would the finding of ET life show that our God is just our own Man-made idea? Like the Atheists say? And that its likely that other Intelligent species have their OWN Gods? Who are just as real to them?

believe that it is quite likely our Universe is teeming with Life. With Intelligent Life ... conditions might be favorable for life somewhere out there .. but not without the third element present .... and the only way the third element could be present would be if God intentionally placed it there ... Would this diminish the notion of our God as we know Him from the Bible .... you've already been there done that ... how could God be any more diminished in your view ? .... would the finding of ET life show that our God is just blah blah blah .... have you not read ?? concerning the principalities and powers of the air ?? .... man are you ever set up for major deception ... ........ pfft !! ET is your friend ... right ?

You guys should really think about answering this, and what it will mean for you and your belief (delusion?) in your sky gods, since I think it is only a matter of time before we learn that we are merely one out of Millions of Civilizations in our Universe.

I did not ask you whether or not you believed in Intelligent life in the Universe.

My question was a hypothetical one. Asking you that if you woke up tomorrow morning and heard on the news that Hubble and our satellite dishes and whatnot all had proof and were contacted by an ET intelligent civilization. We found out there are, say, 3000 other civilizations just in our own Galaxy. (this btw is a conservative number, since there are over a trillion planets.)

And many of these cultures were more advanced than we were. So, all this happens. ET life is a FACT. How does this alter, if at all, your concept of an all-powerful and knwing God. Since He never mentioned other civilizations in the Bible. Or in Genesis. Nor did Jesus. Why? Would it matter? Why not?

I will give you one more chance. If you don't answer or mock or past tracts I will pull a SaintNow and ban you.

why is it you and Saint are the ONLY two guys I ever need to ban?

Wow you haven't met fromwithin yet?

Also, I made a debate similar to this, God vs. Aliens. There were some pretty interesting arguments, I suggest you look at it. SaintNow made some controversial points.

So, you believe in a God that doesn't exist throughout the entire universe. It is funny that you try to claim to believe in God.

A universe full of life would diminish the important of human beings, and since the story of God and Jesus Christ is inexorably tied to our story it diminishes them as well.

What would truly be interesting would be if a more advanced life managed to come all the way to earth and meet us face to face and if they had their own ideosyncratic alien-self-important religious belief and they tried to press it on to us like the Christian missionaries did to the Native Americans and 3rd World.

Well, many Cosmologists including Steve Hawking think that your scenario could be very likely. In fact he has always been opposed to trying to contact ET intel life for this very reason. He surmises that if somebody contacted us they would almost certainly be more technologically advanced. Then he goes on to show, rightfully, that history has shown us all too well that when one advanced peoples comes into contact with a lesser civilization, the results are usually not good for the latter.

How do you think discovery of an advanced ET peoples would effect the veracity of the Bible being the Word of God? And for the Hebrews being His chosen people? and for Jesus being mankind's One True Savior?

I believe that such a discovery would all but render those notions as pure myth.

The actual God is diminished by Christianity. If we are the only life in the universe than God is confining Himself to a tiny portion of His own creation.
