Of coarse we would. They are not reliable and they spread disease. I think that swine flu was a virus that originated from the Internet.

I think that there are some debaters out there that should have their computers taken away from them... as long as I'm not on the list ;)

I briefly brought up that computers are not reliable and thought I would expand on this. I am a heavy equipment mechanic and mechanical things have the bugs worked out of them for the most part. The break downs that occur these days are computer related and this holds true for most things. Why have something that can be made to be 99% dependable and attach something that is rarely dependable on it. The simpler something is, the more dependable it is.

Take this example in consideration; a clothes washer of today with its' computer. I bought an old wringer washer for doing really dirty clothes and have owned three newer clothes washer since I bought the wringer washer. In seven years owned three new washers. The wringer washer was fifty years old when I purchased it and it still works. The computers went out of the other washers and it cost more to fix them then what it took to buy a new one. I decided a year ago when my last new washer broke down that it is insane to own something that is not reliable. I do my laundry with a nearly sixty year old machine, I think it even does a better job of getting my clothes clean. Some call this progress, I sure don't see it that way. I have a dozen other things that I use regularly that are just as old, dependability out ways convenience any day.

No. Computers with the development of nanotechnology will cure all our diseases and make us immortal. All hail Technocratia

I remember using computers as a child. They existed for me to write stories, make banners/cards/etc., and play games like Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego.

My first time on the internet was in 7th grade, when I stayed over at a friend's who had just gotten AOL.

So in all fairness, I've never really known a life without computers. They've existed for decades, of course, but in my lifetime they became accessible to everybody.

I think they're great. We can communicate with others around the planet. They make our jobs easier. We're able to access instant information. It's awesome.

If nanobots can heal then they could also kill so:

As soon as nanobots are roaming around and on-line; assault with a deadly weapon will include killing someone with a computer.

Then we will probably all have to get a license to drive our computer.
