I feel that the Gasden flag has been ''appropriated'' by those whose political views are well to the 'right of centre' and who have what could be described as an overzealous sense of patriotism. On digging deep into the philosophy of this strong patriotic perception there seems to exist tinges of antiblack sentiments. In a free democratic society I am of the opinion there is nothing whatsoever wrong with adopting this position and using whatever symbol is considered to represent this non-violent political agenda. What I would challenge anyone to do is to explain to me;-- ''USING ONLY ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, ( I.E, COMPUTERS) POWER SOURCES, ( I.E, ELECTRICITY) A GLOBAL COMPUTER NETWORK,( I.E THE INTERNET) A UNIVERSALLY UNDERSTOOD FORM OF COMMUNICATION( I.E, SUCH AS THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE) A WORLDWIDE NON VISUAL, AUDIO FORM OF COMMUNICATION, ( I.E, THE TELEPHONE/RADIO, WHICH HAS BEEN INVENTED AND DISTRIBUTED EXCLUSIVELY BY BLACK PEOPLE'', My question is,;--HOW AND WHY ARE WHITES NOT SUPERIOR TO BLACKS? none of that is racism. if anything it's cultural resistance to integration, the exact same thing that BLM are fighting for in the modern day. we've tried to integrate and now they fear that they cannot be blacks and that their "Lifestyle" their "Culture" is being torn away. - But the culture IS inferior. the people aren't. the ideology is. Blacks as a culture experience learned helplessness because they feel that there are factors stacked against them. however so far as I've seen it's just themselves believing they are in a prison cell . and there are countless examples of non-lottery, key to industry jobs that blacks have taken. and what do these people have in common? the fact that they said "I'm not helpless and I can learn" and perhaps the presence of father figures. if their behaviors are inferior, they will be seen as inferior. but behaviors ARE NOT a part of race. and therefore this assessment is not Racist. - And this is where all the social justice esque problems seem to stem from. you cannot criticize my ideology otherwise you're a bigot. Now, I'm the first to agree "Different strokes for different blokes" but no ideology is above criticism. so what the hell are black fathers thinking leaving their kids and "Wife" to fend for themselves. what the hell are they expecting when they goof off through school and have a remedial level at everything by the time they reach highschool? the people are fine, but their culture makes them lazy, because they can yell "DISCRIMINATION" when there is none and get away with all kinds of shit. Guys, calm down. Literally the only thing happening is an investigation. "In other words, a Postal Service employee (not someone in the private sector) complained of racial harassment and retaliation. One of the elements of his complaint was that a co-worker wore a cap with the Gasden flag, which he found harassing. The Postal Service dismissed the claim without an investigation or hearing. This was appealed to the EEOC. The EEOC ruled that it could not make a decision whether harassment occurred given the total lack of facts. Most emphatically, the EEOC made no determination as to whether wearing the Gasden flag alone constituted harassment. The matter was sent back to the Postal Service for investigation and an hearing, to result in a final agency decision on the merits." The origins of that Don't Tread on Me Flag have nothing to do with race. It ties back to dialogue from Ben Franklin regarding colonial treatment by the British. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Although it is indeed possible for a historic symbol to be reappropriated and then associated with a terrible concept (like the Swastika on the Nazi flag) it's way way too early and too minor in comparison for the Tea Party movement to have elevated the rattlesnake flag to the status of automatically racist. And an employee feeling threatened by the image of a rattlesnake is no more meaningful or different than if a Bostonian living in NY felt threatened by a coworker wearing a Yankees hat, or if an elderly woman felt threatened because a young man on the street was dressed for hip hop.
