are you an Atheist/Agnostic or are you Religious?

atheism is to absolutely not believe in any supernatural forces/supernatural being or beings.

agnosticism is the view point that there is no reason to believe in god/supernatural forces or beings because there is no hard evidence to support religion, but that you cant disprove religion.

being religious is the state of believing and showing devotion to any supernatural force/supernatural being via god(s) or ultimate reality, that does not derive itself from any scientific, natural or physical law.

Are these definition we are using for the sake of this debate? Or are they what you roughly perceive their official definitions to be? If the former, that's fine. If the latter, you are off by a fair amount.

Assuming the former, that these are just for this debate, I would be classed as an agnostic.

Assuming the latter, you have incorrectly defined atheism/agnosticism.

Atheism/agnosticism/theism are not degrees of certainty on an X axis, with atheism on the far left, agnosticism as the "neutral" or 0 point, and theism on the far right.

Atheism and theism would be lack of belief in god and presence of belief in god, respectively. Atheism comes from the greek word atheos, the prefix a meaning without and theos meaning god, meaning without god.

Agnosticism, in this case, is merely the idea that the existence of a god is currently unknown or unknowable. To be gnostic about god would be the idea that the existence of a god is currently known (to you or otherwise) or possible to discover.

its more that i did use the definitions correctly while extending them a little bit to their furthest interpreted meanings, but not going outside of their meaning per se, i did make sure to look up the words first before i typed that out, i used these extensions for the sake of the debate, because what i'm trying to find out is very specific.

ill start it off by saying that i'm an Atheist because there is no reason for my to believe in something that was created in the imaginations of people from thousands of years ago, and there is no logical reason to believe in any religion as there is no hard or real evidence supporting it.

I am Agnostic leaning towards religion mainly because no one knows for sure but the universe is just so amazing im thinking I might turn too god in the future.

agnosticism is the view point that there is no reason to believe in god/supernatural forces or beings because there is no hard evidence to support religion, but that you cant disprove religion.

Agnosticism is a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god.

They may be an agnostic atheist (don't know, probably not a god) or an agnostic theist (don't know, probably a god), and to lump them together is unfair to each.

don't worry, i'm not arguing with the core definitions of them from the dictionary, i extended them for the sake of the debate-survey

but your right, there are Religious leaning Agnostics, so what i mean is Atheistic leaning Agnostics, but unfortunately there isn't a third option i can make that i know of, otherwise i would have made a third option for agnostics, so i have been forced to improvise, because if i meant religious leaning Agnostics i would have put agnostics over by religious.

I'm an agnostic atheist; a de facto atheist. I don't believe god to be "unknowable." In light of not ever having seen convincing evidence of anything "super-natural," nor experiencing anything of the sort myself, I find the notion of a deity absurd and naive. To further state that not only is there a deity, but that it is a judgmental and regularly-intervening deity, is quite beyond ludicrous.

I am religious. I think it is the logical way to go. I respect the beliefs others. I hope I get the same treatment.

Why do you believe that belief in god is more rational/logical than lack of belief in god?

Side: Atheist/Agnostic

Precisely, there is no rationality in the believe in a deity.----------------------

This debate is more of a survey than an argument. But nonetheless, I am a Catholic since I believe and respect the teachings of God.But I hate corrupt Catholic priests since they don`t deserve the trust, power, and wealth given to them. I also respect Atheists since they grew up in a different culture than mine. Lastly, it is incoherent to divide people due to their beliefs since it us useless for humanity to argue about things in which none would give way.

Im a Catholic. I believe I'm religious. I just go with belief. It doesnt really matter if other people dont believe on what I believe. As long as I know I'm guided by someone up there, then everything will be fine.

I am a Christian and I believe that Jesus Christ is God and that He came down to save us from our sins and rose again from the grave to provide us a way to eternity and not be a slave to sin but to Christ. I believe that the world does need a God because then we wouldn't have rules and the world would be out of control and we wouldn't be here right now.

I believe there is a lot of evidence supporting Jesus Christ and for the Bible and if you think there is no evidence at all then why is there evidence that people find for Jesus Christ and the Bible and its actual evidence so if you reject it your rejecting evidence that most everyone says it isn't evidence.

If you get upset or angry at my beliefs or what I believe that is not my problem but you can hate all you want on what I believe in and say all you like against my beliefs but my beliefs won't change. I would die for what I believe in because Christ died first for us so why not die for our beliefs?

And remember this person is saying what person are you a religious person or a atheist/agnostic and I don't want to argue with any non-believers about my beliefs. If you want to argue about it then go "Does God exists?" debates please. Thank you very much I hope you all respect my beliefs and values. :)

Peace be to you all. First i respect everyone with their beliefs as long as they respect us. I do believe in God. I declare that God exist. He has spoken to His Messenger (prophet) and reveal Himself to some of His Messenger. I have faith. Athiests, why would you believe in something that clearly you cannot see or have any evidence too such as evolution of mankind and big bang theory. I can assure you guys that none of you have seen it happens, yet you guys can believe in that stuff. If you guys said that the universe existed just like that, why can't you guys say the same thing to our beliefs? I give my congratulation to you guys for at least have a faith. Have you guys ever wondering why science couldn't explain some stuff or things even though you guys know it existed? Think wisely for it is not logic at all for a big bang to occur out of nothing. Surely you guys can choose what to believe in but at least choose the right one. If any offense were taken, I'm deeply sorry

I believe in a higher being, mainly because there is no way everything was made out of nothing.

"But what about the big bang?" What created the big bang, and if you have the answer to that, what created the 'thing' that created the big bang? and if you have the answer to that? or that? or that? it just keeps on going.

But i still respect your beliefs, and if you are an atheist that is fine, I won't try and bother you or be rude. you have your opinion i have mine.
