I have been taking Krav Maga lessons twice a week for just under two years now.

For my money, if all other factors were equal, such as the strength and quickness and relative size of the two combatants, a Krav Maga practitioner would have a big edge on a boxer, and thus would most likely win. I am assuming you're talking about a street-fight, and not a fight or match based on points, as in boxing? In a street-fight "winning" is the one who walks away less injured and puts his opponent down or incapacitated.

I say a KM guy would win over a boxer because he is not bound by the rules of boxing. In KM anything goes! Even more stuff than in UFC cage fighting, since KM includes things like eye gouging and nut kicks and kicks to the head while down. Oh, and choke-holds too. Far as I know those things are banned in UFC. (And of course they are no-no's in boxing.)

But I would correct you on one small point. KM is not really considered a martial art. There is none of that mental discipline of "inner spirit" or honor stuff, like in "Ahh Grasshopper when you can snatch the pebble from my hand..."

KM is pure nasty down in the gutter street-fighting that focuses on vanquishing attacks on the street, often by multiple attackers or armed attackers. We do a lot of practice on disarming attackers with edged weapons. Basically, KN teaches you how to fuck somebody up, and take the "want to" out of them for fighting or mugging you.

It is the chosen self defense method of the Mossahd, which as you probably know is the Israeli Special Forces dudes. Those guys are like Jewish SEALS. LOL.
