I am of the opinion that neither homosexual nor heterosexual marriage ought to be controlled by the government. All legal and/or political ramifications of marriage and divorce ought to be, well, divorced of governmental control and influence, and become strictly person-to-person contracts.

If you don't like it, don't get married to someone of the same gender.

Contrary to most religious fantics beliefs, homosexuality is not evil. It is not immoral. Everyone has the right to love and it doesn't matter which gender they choose. Besides, it would help with the overpopulation problem.

Now, a gay couple adopting a child is a different story. This child would undergo riducle and harrasment all through his early life and that would be extremely traumatic for a child. Until society looks at homosexuality as a preference choice, not a taboo, I am against gay couples who choose to adopt.

I believe it should be legalized because love is something homosexuals, bisexuals, and straight people in this world all experience. You say that gays shouldn't be able to get married because marriage is something special for just a man and a woman, but I've seen many of those types of marriages ending in divorced, or they are just getting married to inherit their spouses wealth. Does that sound like what you argue is the sanctity of marriage? I believe anyone should be able to get married in this country because this is America. Civil Unions and marriages are very different. Those who beg to differ I have one question, want to trade your marriage for my civil union?? I didn't think you would.

With so many other problems the State and country have to grapple with, can we just get over it and give them what they want?

Then we can all get back to the declining economy.

The Supreme Court just legalized it as the law of the land in 2015.
