CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

It appears the Trumpsters amongst us say that Flynn didn't lie, it was the FBI..
Yet, he pleaded guilty.. He told the judge he did it.. So, he was either lying to the judge, or lying to the FBI.. I don't care which... What cannot be denied is that he's a LIAR..

People in the FBI, including Strzok, say he didn't even hint at having told a lie.

You can get a man to say he's a cucumber if you squeeze hard enough, including you.
Guess how many people plead guilty in Communist countries when the powers that be decide you're going to be guilty. How many people have been killed or sabotaged in human history without being guilty of anything? Was Nelson Mandela guilty? This could have been you. What you are promoting guarantees that one day it will be.
Comey and Mueller badly bungled the biggest case they ever handled. They botched the investigation of the 2001 anthrax letter attacks that took five lives and infected 17 other people, shut down the U.S. Capitol and Washington’s mail system, solidified the Bush administration’s antipathy for Iraq, and eventually, when the facts finally came out, made the FBI look feckless, incompetent, and easily manipulated by outside political pressure.
This, too, was an enormously complex case. But here are some facts: Despite the jihadist slogans accompanying the mailed anthrax, it had nothing to do with Saddam Hussein or any foreign element; the FBI ignored a 2002 tip from a scientific colleague of the actual anthrax killer, who turned out to be a Fort Detrick scientist named Bruce Edwards Ivins; the reason is that they had quickly obsessed on an innocent man named Steven Hatfill.
In truth, Hatfill was an implausible suspect from the outset. He was a virologist who never handled anthrax, which is a bacterium. (Ivins, by contrast, shared ownership of anthrax patents, was diagnosed as having paranoid personality disorder, and had a habit of stalking and threatening people with anonymous letters – including the woman who provided the long-ignored tip to the FBI). So what evidence did the FBI have against Hatfill? There was none, so the agency did a Hail Mary, importing two bloodhounds from California whose handlers claimed could sniff the scent of the killer on the anthrax-tainted letters. These dogs were shown to Hatfill, who promptly petted them. When the dogs responded favorably, their handlers told the FBI that they’d “alerted” on Hatfill and that he must be the killer.
You’d think that any good FBI agent would have kicked these quacks in the fanny and found their dogs a good home. Or at least checked news accounts of criminal cases in California where these same dogs had been used against defendants who’d been convicted -- and later exonerated. As Pulitzer Prize-winning Los Angeles Times investigative reporter David Willman detailed in his authoritative book on the case, a California judge who’d tossed out a murder conviction based on these sketchy canines called the prosecution’s dog handler “as biased as any witness that this court has ever seen.”
Instead, Mueller, who micromanaged the anthrax case and fell in love with the dubious dog evidence, personally assured Ashcroft and presumably George W. Bush that in Steven Hatfill the bureau had its man. Comey, in turn, was asked by a skeptical Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz if Hatfill was another Richard Jewell – the security guard wrongly accused of the Atlanta Olympics bombing. Comey replied that he was “absolutely certain” they weren’t making a mistake.
Such certitude seems to be Comey’s default position in his professional life. Mueller didn’t exactly distinguish himself with contrition, either. In 2008, after Ivins committed suicide as he was about to be apprehended for his crimes, and the Justice Department had formally exonerated Hatfill – and paid him $5.82 million in a legal settlement – Mueller could not be bothered to walk across the street to attend the press conference announcing the case’s resolution. When reporters did ask him about it, Mueller was graceless. “I do not apologize for any aspect of the investigation,” he said, adding that it would be erroneous “to say there were mistakes.”
State above the individual and ther inalienable rights I see.
Hello Spuds:
Here in this great country of ours, you have the RIGHT to face your accuser and cross examine him.. If he lied, and you prove it, you won't get convicted.. However, you GIVE up that right when you plead guilty.
You appear to think there was AMPLE evidence that the FBI lied and NOT Flynn.. So, I'm wondering WHY he let the FBI off the hook, and WHY he's volunteering to go to jail.. Could they bankrupt him?? They already DID.. Can they charge his family?? They can, and if the family member didn't do anything illegal, then the family member won't be convicted..
UNLESS, of course, you think the Justice Department was taken over by commies..
One of the biggest problems in America is the fact that people have been brainwashed to believe anybody who has been in the military is a hero. This is a like a wet dream come true for politicians, because it means they can recruit naive morons and turn them into heroes just by sending them to steal oil from a foreign country.
I WOULD support him IF he didn't endanger my country... And talking to the Russians was OK too.. But, LYING about talking to the Russians isn't.. In fact, LYING about dealing with the Russians is VERY TROUBLING... It LOOKS like he was supporting RUSSIAN interference into our election.. That's NOT American... That's TREASON..
He's a Rhode Islander … and a traitor! Even I won't defend him after he is found guilty … of which there is little doubt! Fraternizing with the enemy is NOT a good thing …. ESPECIALLY for Presidents and their appointees!
Who reads House Intel Reports? Certainly not Trump! He gets HIS "intel" from Faux News and his Actual Chief-of-Staff, Shawn Hannity. When Flynn is exonerated, let me know. Oh, wait, I'll get that from the OTHER "real news"! ;-)
That house intel report likely came from the same mind that said China had hacked Hillary's e-mails....Trump believed THAT "fake news" also.

The far right has gained an increasingly large stranglehold in America since its 9/11 gambit paid off. At this stage the entire country is in danger of imploding in a similar way that those towers imploded.
