Christians are not hypocrites. They demand moral perfection, but they cannot so it. Thats the entire point of the Gospel, though! In our inability to fulfill the law of God, Christ fulfills it for us. We demand moral perfection, sure, indeed! However, the difference between a hypocrite and a Christian is the condemnation aspect: Christians do not practice what they preach, but they understand everyone's inability to do so. Hypocrites, contextually proper, do not practice what the preach in that they condemn others. Now, of course, you will find condemning Christians, since we all condemn from time to time, but for the most part they do not condemn, knowing that they have been forgiven for their own faults, making them forgive the faults of others. 2

How spectacularly naive. Care to substantiate this claim in light of the overwhelming historical and contemporary evidence to the contrary? (Edit: Oh, wait, sorry. I just asked you for evidence. I should know better by now. You will just come back and tell me you already have, that I am begging the question, creating a red herring, and/or making an argument only a stupid, misinformed, ill-educated idiot would make. And then proceed to utterly avoid having to warrant your assertion. Why do I even bother?) Christians are those who conform to the Biblical definition of "Christian." I just told you a part of the Biblical definition for a Christian. The only historical and contemporary evidence you have is based in those who are not actually Christian: the Red Scare and McCarthyism caused America as a whole to become overwhelmingly nominalistically Christian. Matthew 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ There are much fewer Christians out there than you think. I realize, as a rule, you have an irresistible need to dumb down theological concepts to try to make yourself feel superior, but consider for a second that you are turning it into an argument of labels... That really is not the premise of the discussion. What you call your self, or what your opinions are of people, God will be the ultimate judge of who followed the faith and who did not, and he seems to indicate those numbers will be smaller than we might think. That is relevant to the discussion, as many who think they are representatives of the Church really are not. 1
