Definitely peer pressure is harmful. It keeps one from doing the right thing, because the right thing is often not the most popular. It keeps one from becoming an individual with views and opinions that differ from society, thus killing diversity and individuality. To conform the only choice for so many too weak to stand alone.

Most of the time, yes, but suppose it depends on what the person is being pressured into... pressured into getting better grades, not so bad... pressured into doing drugs, bad.

A GOOD BOY BECOME A BAD BOY BECAUSE OF PEER PRESSURE

IF YOU CAN THEN TYPE AGAINST THIS ..........................

Side: it is harmful

Its very bad. It diminishes that prominent choice the person may have wanted to take. It allows others to practically control the decisions of a person. You don't really press people to do good things and usually peer pressure gives off a negative connotation. You can encourage or prefer someone to make a good decision but peer pressure is used to hopefully control the decisions one person makes.

Thomas Paine envisioned an independent, critical thinking and confident individual in The Rights of Man. I tend to agree with him that we must move away from the primitive herd animal mentality and feel free to fearlessly express ourselves in a group that can or may impose pressure on any free thinking individual.

Peer pressure CAN be beneficial. For an example: say your too scared to do something that can achieve all of your goals in life, like auditioning for something, you decide not to do it, but then your friend pressures you leaving you no choice. You then achieve what ever you were doing, and that was because of the peer pressure. I know, peer pressure is sometimes involving drugs, but my motto is: Choose your friends wisely.

friendship is like fruit means if an apple/mango not good in colour for that we will degrade it or we will separate it from but in case of friend why we choose them only not like fruits we separate him/her why ? ...because if they have gf/bf we think him/her great or if he smoke or drink he is great thus we think that he is rich or intelligent because he/she is managing his/her gf/bf or he is managing to drink or smoke daily so we give them more respect or prefer them more . if he is bad we incourage him/her to move forward them instead separate them so they can learn a lesson like peer pressure is same like friendship it harmful also

Peer pressure is not always bad. It can help you reflect on yourself. Peers may teach you good things and encourage you to follow them. You may be able to change yourself for better. Looking at what others do, can help you bring a positive change in your way of thinking. If you can pick selectively, peer pressure can push you towards something positive. For example, when a child knows that some of his friends regularly read storybooks or that they have subscribed to a library, even he feels tempted to do so. He may get into the habit of reading because of his peers. Seeing that some of your friends exercise daily, even you may take up the habit. Positive peer pressure can lead you to adopt good habits in life. so i think it is not every time harmful it tesches n make us explore in our new world n to fight against the cruel world......
