Well, yes this is true. But this is also why those particular ones that you mentioned aren't really taken seriously anymore. There are more people who are fun to debate on this site than the three or four who are simply seen as jokes; it's just they create so many "debates" it floods the site with their nonsense. But then sometimes it's fun to poke them and actually respond to their debates....even if you know they will ban. In terms of adding something new? I think the term "wiener" is pretty good. Aka...the person who consistently ignores their debate in favor of character attacks on others then whines when their debate is ignored and claims to be a victim. Side: Yes
Generally true. To be honest though I've seen this play out on several other debate websites. It's kind of inevitable. Eventually traffic slows to little more than the angry rants of the brats. A few regulars will pop back in once in a while to put them in their place, but otherwise the site will become a propaganda board for the rants. We're about 2/3 of the way there now. Don't believe me? Wait and see. And yes, it still can get much worse than you see it on here now. In a way it's a symptom of the larger web/social media problem... Which is too many petty propagandist are out there slinging lies or smears, or others' lies and smears, and the shear volume is making it nearly impossible anymore to sort out truth or for common everyday people to have legitimate conversations on the topics of the day. We're buried in muck Here. On Facebook. On countless blogs and pseudo news sites. And it's reached a saturation point where people either withdraw or latch onto a side and join into the big push, not really fully understanding what they're pushing. Perhaps I've said too much. Anyway, if you find someone willing to have a decent open conversation with you then that's whom you need to keep having your dialogue with. Because all this angry propagandizing is a poison to not just debate websites but society as whole. Side: Yes
