I am confused slightly. Is this drinking water (which is needed for life) or drinking alcohol (which can destroy lives)? If it's drinking water, then I would say that's already free. Establishments (like Olive Garden, etc.) shouldn't be forced to provide free water to anyone off the streets, but there are public drinking fountains. But why should alcohol be free? And how is drinking alcohol a human right? If you happen to love it, and thus think everyone does, then some could use that argument to say torturing people is a human right! Also, poor people should be thinking about things other than getting wasted, like finding a job (or second job) and sorting out their life. So, no, drinking alcohol shouldn't be given freely. Also, how could breweries and pubs get money if they were forced to give away free drinks? They'd go out of business. Stores would stop selling alcohol (why sell something if there's no profit in it?), and then nobody would be able to get it! Not that that's a bad thing, but that's a whole other argument. Side: no it should not
