Yes, with one caveat:

A religion should not be forced to alter a fundamental precept to accommodate a societal norm.

Thus, if a civil union is insufficient for a couple, they should find a denomination, sect or religion which is able to accomodate them.

definitely. i don't see how it is so detrimental to the "familial unit"... most marriages end in divorce as it is, so why not let gay people join the fun? it hurts no one. it's a sense of false hysteria over something that doesn't affect anyone else. seperate but equal is not equal.

I agree, separate but equal is not equal. I cannot fathom why people are so against same sex marriage. People say it is wrong, it is against god, it is against nature, it is whatever. It is not my place to judge anyone's relationship less my own. Who cares if you agree or do not agree, that doesn't give you the right to take marriage away from a happy couple, whether they are gay, straight, purple, from mercury, or live in a corn field. Let them be.
