School uniforms are dull and boring. They tell to be ourselves. But we can't when the make us to wear the something. Plus what up with black trousers I meant that in the summer the will get hot for the sun. Plus what if the lose a part of the uniform what are you going to then. If you wear your own clothes to school then you can wear something else if you can the piece of clothing you want Side: yes

HELL YEA we should cuz den we wont b able 2 xpress who we are. And if kids pick on you because of what you wear den its time to change what you wear. And if your parents just dont have the money well den datz too bad. Cause why should the kids with money have to suffer because of the kids whos parents dont have money?!?!?!?! Side: yes
Yes, because Most of the uniforms in schools have an ugly design. For example, the middle school which is next to our elementary school has a brown skirt with a white shirt for winter, and a blue skirt with a white shirt. Also, it is displeased that we have to wear the same uniform everyday. It will be very boring to look at the same clothes every morning as you take out the uniform to wear. Side: yes

School uniforms should be abolished. These days are getting very hot and when I'm at school and i have to wear these shirts buttoned all the way up with a tie it becomes really uncomfortable and causes u not being really able to function properly. If student could dress the way they like they would dress to suit the weather. Furthermore students need to express themselves. what is a better way to express yourself without doing anything wrong or saying anything that could cause you to be suspended or expelled, clothes or the way u dress this is saying to the person i am like this or i like this colour. Side: yes
OK then, if you think that school uniform shouldn't be abolished, read this: Madame Chair, Ladies of opposition, Judges and Ladies of the floor, I am Lori and I belive that school uniform should be abolished. My colleagues and I (Rhiannon and Beth) will talk on Comfort, Creativity and Cost. I myself shall talk about creativity, individuality and formality. Firstly, I shall talk about the school curriculum. OK, so there are the core subjects like Maths and Science which everyone has to do? But why do they teach us English, Art, D&T;? Because they want us to grow not only in knowledge and intelligence but creativity! Does our uniform help us to grow in knowledge, NO! Then it may as well help us grow in creativity! Then we come to formality. Why do we wear school uniform? To look smart. But do we really look smart in school uniform? Unknown no. out of the 81 girls we surveyed said that they thought it was smart. Yes Ladies, ONE girl. So what makes it look smart, the polo shirts, and the pleated skirts? Polo shirts which some girls choose to wear as a casual garment outside of school. Polo shirts with fluff clinging to them? Pleated skirts which are being constantly being pulled up, trousers as tight as skinny jeans. I thought our school was meant to be known for its enthusiasm and friendships, but what looks enthusiastic about girls trudging along with matching clothes, socks and hair accessories. The only item of clothing not restricted by the regulation rules is underwear, and how long do we have before navy knickers become regulation? Our school uniform is not smart, it certainly wasn’t practically designed for the unpredictable and constant change in our English climate, and it is despised and loathed by all students. Anything that was formal in our school uniform has been wiped out by students. Why do they do it? Isn’t it evident that our fellow students our crying out for help. My next point is still on the subject of formality. Firstly, when I was researching this topic, I typed the word formal into thesaurus.com. Some of the synonyms were decorous, nominal, and the Antonyms were unaffected and relaxed. Isn’t that what our students want to be, unaffected and relaxed? Besides, if a child is not unaffected, isn’t her schoolwork at great risk? Now, my next point is the long-term damage of forcing school uniform upon innocent students. What is the point in school? To prepare us for the world. Side: yes

School uniforms should be abolished because they are impractical for modern-day society. For many years, school uniforms have been worn by students in schools throughout Australia. The problem of wearing school uniforms is that most school parents waste a lot of money purchasing them. Children of school age tend to grow very fast; this results in having to constantly replace uniforms. Additionally, the fabric used to make the uniforms can become quite uncomfortable and affect classroom concentration. School uniforms are not used as often as casual clothes in times like weekends, holidays and formal situations. Side: yes

School uniforms prevent you from looking any uglier than you already; uniformity. In the case that you wear clothes that are out of style, that you will be further humiliated. If you do something good in public, they would not be able to recognize your school. Fashion trends can last as long as one whole year, some as short as one week. Parents feel the pressure to when tying to provide their children with latest peer-pleasing designs. Side: No
I believe that school uniforms should NOT be banned... Although everyone likes dressing in casual clothes and being comfortable in them, you're not the only ones who like it. Yes, I agree, I'd love to dress casual everyday but it can make others feel out of place and they can be judged by what they wear. Some people may not be the "richest" or the most "stylish" you don't want to be judged but what you wear or what type of style you enjoy wearing. Teenagers these days are very fussy about what they wear. There are more styles of clothes these days, than there ever was. I think that school uniforms shouldn't be banned, but teens should be able to accessorize however they wish. So everyone is happy. :) xx-Tokai <3 Side: No
Firstly, uniforms help us create a strong sense of community, thus promoting discipline and helping raise academic standards. General outlook of the eductional centre changes. Secondly, all students are equal in the eyes of the school and of each other. In institutions without uniforms students are often competitive in dress and worry endlessly about their appearance. My personal experience proved that enormous time is expended to choose what to wear the other day. And pupils without expensive, trendy clothes may become social outcasts. Besides, many parents prefer uniforms because they save a lot of money on clothes. Furthermore, uniforms prepare students for life after graduation, when businesses will expect them to adhere to corporate dress codes. Side: no
