where were you on September 11th 2001

Some historical events are so important you never forget where you were.  Tell the world where you were and what you thought on that day

I remember i was in fith grade and in school when the principle comes over the loud speaker saying the world trade centers have just been attacked. I thought what the heck are the world trade center

I've lived in central Jersey my whole life, so I was near the city (NYC) when it happened. I was in 5th grade and everyone was getting picked up during the day, so I was really suspicious. So I took the bus home and saw it on TV and thought it was a joke or something. Sadly, it wasn't, so we drove over to a lookout point across New York Harbor and just watched the smoke go. It was one of the saddest things I had ever seen and still makes me feel sad when I see footage of it. Thank God I didn't lose any friends or family that day, but my heart goes out to the people I know who had lost family members on that day. This truly was an American tragedy.

A rather normal day. Some people were deeply saddened but I wasn't really because I live 800 miles away in St Louis.

To me, it was of little importance. Although I pity those who died or lost loved ones on 9/11, I have no friends or family in New York city, or New York State, or the north east at all.

And I may sound cruel, but I tire of listening to Missourians who are saddened by the thought of 9/11 as if they were there, or less than 800 miles away for that matter.

of la rather normal day? it was anything but normal it affected the whole United states even if you don't know anyone who was there because it was a important historical event in American history. it changed the way we as Americans think

I was at work when a fellow employee told everyone about what she just heard on the news.
