It is the less of two horridly depressing and hopeless situations for a ridiculously vast majority of the citizens. That said, they both suck. That a few entrepreneurs have managed to take advantage of what amounts to massive slave labor when one accounts for inflation, doesn't make them cool. I know, I compete with Indian writers who will work for 10 cents an hour. Pretty sure it costs more to house and feed a slave in the US. Luckily they all suck at their job - hence my India bought Ipod broke in 2 weeks. Side: india

India may not be progressing as fast as China, nor is military strengths comparable but the fact remains that India is STILL a democracy. The largest democracy in the world in fact. Here people have a voice and they have freedom as opposed to China which oppresses it's people to get ahead in the world. As for world politics there are a lot less enemies India has as compared to China. China has conflict of interest with Tibet, Arunanchal Pradesh, South China Sea and many more. It is also an active supporter of North Korea with its insane dictator. Maybe in quantifiable terms China may be ahead but is it all worth it if the people ultimately have no choice and the country works on purely nationalistic motives? Side: india

I would have to support China, not because they are friendly to the us, but because they are raising themselves up from third world status so much faster than India. The poverty exhibited in India is so extreme compared to China. Just look at the olympic games they put on...amazing! Side: China
