Definitely books. Ask a screenwriter what the toughest part of the job is, and it's trimming the story to make it fit time restraints. One of the tricks they use most often is creating characters or events to represent stuff they don't have have time to cover in the screenplay. try this link http://history.howstuffworks.com/history-vs-myth/10-historically-inaccurate-movies.htm

Books are better due to the fact that there are loads of new things to learn. In a book, you use it for 2 uses. First, for fun, second, for research. However, in movies, you only focus on having fun, and enjoying.

This is a visual generation. The days of learning purely out of textbooks are 40-something years too late. As technology progresses, visual stimulation and interactivity become more and more necessary to not only associate newer generations with the available technology, but keep and hold their attention as well.
