Books are our true friends.................... they are a companion for us all through our life................... while movies and games are just entertainment which lasts for few hours.................

Honestly, it really does depend on the story. Some stories work better in movie form, some work best as a book, some work best as a TV show or a video game, etc. But in general, I much prefer books. They exercise your brain moreso than movies do, they require you to use your imagination, and they enable you to get inside the characters' minds and feel much closer to them than a movie ever will.

I'm a huge movie buff, and my brother is a Film major at Emerson College, but I think there's nothing better than curling up with a book on the couch when it's raining.

Or curling up with a book on a blanket on a beach.

Or curling up with a book on an airplane.

Or curling up with a book... anywhere.

Books, because they put our imaginations to use. I'm not much of a daydreamer in life, so it's nice to read something that gives my mind the chance to dream up things through someone else's words. Movies are more simple. You watch and you feel, but you'll seem close to brain dead. But I do like watching movies, it just depends on the story, the acting, and what it makes me think of when it's over. I like movies that make me ponder life. In fact, I do that way too much...apply movies (and TV shows) to reality. But I prefer a good book most of the time.

Books last longer and studies have shown that reading can improve test scores and for me at least it improves my vocabulary and I also learn something.

Okay, well, that has absolutley nothing to do with this debate. Sorry.
