Who Do You Trust To Lead Our Country Over The Next 4-8 Years?
Rather than pick all the different factors apart and debate them all, I'm taking a different look at this election. Who is it, that makes sense to you overall, along with their running mates as a total ticket. Who do you think we will we be better off with 4-8 years from now? Use whatever means you wish whether it be hard news, gut feelings or logical deduction. It's all OK here."

Absolutely John McCain! He is an experienced veteran with a great past while his opponent, Barack Obama, is an inexperienced radical socialist who is going to raise taxes $3 trillion! Don't buy the "only raise taxes on families earning over 250,00 dolars" crap. He is going to overtax the corperations and guess what? The corperations DON'T pay taxes! You pay their taxes. So in his "secret" way, he is going to raise your taxes. John McCain will restore government in Iraq and get the taliban out of Afghanistan, he will lower your taxes, he will close the borders, he will come up with REAL solutions for the economy, and he will be environmentally friendly. If you trust Barack Hussein Obama, and I don't know how you could after all the info I just gave you, but if you do, vote for him, but I SURE DON'T! Obama will raise taxes...trust me

Okay, whyyyy in the world would you trust Obama for president? He is trying to solve alll of our problems with money! Money can't fix everything! He is just going to worsen our economy and he is trying to do a little thing called "redistribution". Let me first explain why that isn't "equallity" for anyone! There are people in this country who take advantage of things such as welfare and don't go out and get a job because they are too lazy or drunks or whatever, then there are people who went to college, studied hard and worked their butts off trying to make something of themselves and did! Now Obama is wanting to take peoples money who earn more than others and give it to people who have done nothing with thier life! I understand some people just got dealt a bad hand in life, but life isn't fair and people who have worked hard for their fortune, should'nt have to pay for others expenses. Not only that, McCain can do the same things as Obama without having to use so much money and put our economy even more into debt! Finally I would just like to point out the fact that McCain has been involved in politics since the 1980's whereas Obama is new to all of this! 499 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
During a time of war, the country needs a Commander in Chief with military experience. Not only had John McCain served, but he's also been on the front lines and a prisoner of war. He knows what to do and how to react. Barrack Obama has never even served the country in the military. In addition, while Obama has some really great ideas, money has to pay for these programs. Do we have money? NOT NOW! So where is the money going to come from? Taxes. More taxes. In my opinion, this is not the time for the programs to be implemented. If we do them now, the country is going to suffer financially because we'll be taxed on income that's already too low anyhow. 510 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
Now you know darn well I am not going to let nonsense like that go unchallenged Kukla. The market goes up and the market goes down. We heard the same sky is falling stuff after the tech boom. the 87 crash . . . someone is always crying about losing their life savings. If someone truly lost their life savings and are going to need it for retirement imminently, they are to blame and no one else because I can go to 20 sites online that will show you how to move from growth to preservation of capital as retirement nears. The DOW last was below 9000 in 2003. So they have lost 5 years of growth. FIVE YEARS!! Home prices and corresponding equity? The equity they had in their home was never real. It was artificially propped up by Democratic policies that led to the bust. Just like the tech boom of the late 90s went bust. I know you remember THAT "irrational exuberance". We need to stop running around like chicken little. Sure times are bad. Inflation is killing us on top of the latest financial "bust du jour". But oil is going back down. If we can get a coherent energy policy, maybe we will stop destroying 30 percent of our corn crop to save 1% of oil so food prices will return to a sane level. Maybe this will be the time that people understand that credit cards are dangerous. That you cant chase a different "get rich quick scheme every ten years and call it a retirement plan. That we are supposed to save money. Pay our bills. Not spend more than we have. We don't all need cable bills of $150 per month for Hi Def and premium channels. We don't all need 52 inch flat screen TVs. We don't all need $300 IPods. We don't all need cell phones for our elementary school aged kids. We don't need to pay extra to text and have the internet and GPS and rhinestones on our cell phones. Today we all pay for luxuries and consider them necessities of life. Three hundred dollar cars with $3000 dollar stereos and $3000 rims. And THAT is what you think it is appropriate to tax me for? No, I do not think that a vote for McCain is a roll of the dice for two reasons. 1. he has a track record. Forgetting all of the campaign rhetoric, we know who McCain is and what he believes and will work for. If you disagree, fine, but it is not a roll of the dice. 2. He is a mainstream, albeit Republican pol. He is not a super conservative, he has been a right of center guy nowhere near the lunatic fringe for his whole career. He is not a radical extremist who is going to change the very foundation our nation rests on. We have been moving towards socialism since FDR and in some cases that is fine with me, in others it isn't. But a total capitulation, just declaring ourselves a socialist state is anathema to me and should be to any American. That is what Obama is doing, what his background tells us he is all about and what his announced agenda sets us up for. Now, to the extent that anyone can be assassinated or choke on a chicken bone or get hit by a hockey puck while putting lipstick on a pig and pit bull at the same time . . . ANYTHING is a roll of the dice. Getting up in the morning. Taking a shower. Walking out the front door. But in the normally understood nature of that phrase, I believe McCain is safe and Obama is risky. 516 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
That comparison is ridiculous. The Onion is a humor site that ONLY presents parodies and does not purport to be a source of fact or actual news. Youtube is a streaming site where some spoofs and some actual footage are presented. They have no relationship except that they are net based. The footage of actual testimony is not a spoof. It is actual footage. Your dismissal is silly. Capitalism built on greed? OK, here we go again, You are wrong. Capitalism is a theoretical economic system which has never actually existed in its pure form. Greed is a part of human nature which acts only to dilute the purity of capitalism, not the foundation of it. That is not just a silly opinion, that is just plain an incorrect fact. You are wrong. Period. I frankly don't care what you are surprised by. Republicans are not against ALL regulation. The believe that while some regulation is necessary, as a rule, less regulation is better. They, at the prompting of Alan Greenspan, clearly saw that the abuses of the GSE's were leading to problems. Obviously they did not foresee how big the problems would be or they would have been more forceful. The Dems as a united force behind their leadership blocked the attempts at regulating them and expressed indignation over the attempts to regulate them and professed forcefully and INCORRECTLY that there was no problems at Fannie and Freddie and what a good job Franklin Raines was doing. Who gives a flying F--- if you are surprised. The facts are the facts. I do not have to read your article because he WAS related to them. They gave his campaigns more money in his two years in the senate than any other senator got from them in 9 years! THAT alone is a relationships so I don't need to read whatever lies your article says. The payments are a fact and that if nothing else is a relationship. Prima Facie, your statement is wrong. Period. The only facts I need to know about ACORN is that in 4 successive election years they have been aught engaging in systemic fraud. The always promise to exercise better control but never do. They intentionally, knowingly and systemically engage in corporate extortion, disruption of the government, voter registration fraud AND voter fraud. Those are the facts. They have been doing this for decades. It is not something new. Acorn is merely a new name for an organization out of the sixties whose intent was to put everyone on welfare and crash the whole welfare system and thus the nation. Sounds pretty much like Obama's tax plan to me. And those are the facts. 516 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
You said it clearly in one line. You are willing to risk it all. At least you recognize that Obama is the one who represents the risk to this country as we used to knew it. I listened to Colin Powell today laud Obama's intellectual curiosity. Is that what you call it when some radical lefty looks at the supreme bastion of capitalism and say "hmm I wonder what we would look like as a socialist economy"? I call that the equivalent of a kid pulling the wings off of a fly to see it jerk uncontrollablyas it dies. 516 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
how interesting that you choose to believe lies about a man being a liar. McCain was a part of the Republican efforts to reign in Freddie and Fannie. Everyone keeps ignoring this but when regulation was needed, it was the DEMOCRATS who blocked regulation aimed directly at fixing the problems that DIRECTLY caused this mess we are in. We know they did it. We can go to You tube and see them do it and we know WHY they did it. MONEY There is one liar in this race and he ain't the guy who admits his mistakes and unfortunate association with Keating. Obama got caught lying about his training of ACORN leadership and just changed his website without announcing he was wrong and made a mistake. His website was changed from saying he"never trained ACORN leadership" to saying he "was never employed by ACORN". Again sophistry. His law firm was employed by ACORN and he was the lawyer, chosen by ACORN according to ACORN in contrast to Obama's statement that he just happened to be assigned to the case. His memory just keeps conflicting with newspaper reports of the time, statements by ACORN leaders Toni Fowlkes and Madeleine Talbot and fellow street activist Hazel Johnson. Talbot handpicked Obama for ACORN, brought him into their circle and is the one who picked him to train new leadership. He just changes the history like in the book 1984. He changes all the written record and pretends it has always been that way. His lies about the triviality of his past associations keep being contradicted but he refuses to admit his errors. He says that the meet and greet at Ayers home was not the kickoff of his political career. What is his rationale? That prior to that event, he met with some friends to plan that event in some hotel and THAT was the kickoff. Sophistry? splitting hairs? I say "liar liar pants on fire". The only truth I have found on Obama's website is where he admits that his tax plan results in less revenue and admits his programs will add expenditures. No where that I can find does he reconcile how he can trash the increases in the deficit under Bush while projecting a larger increase in his own plan?? I already expect him to emulate Clinton by doing away with increases to the military budget but will he actually cut it? He pretty much has to doesn't he? based on HIS OWN WEBSITE. WE know he is going to expand welfare. So how does it all add up? It doesn't and I know this because his website ADMITS IT! So because of your aversion to lying, you choose to vote for the sole substantive liar in this whole campaign. As the beer commercial says "BRILLIANT"! That is like a religious person voting for the devil because he is in the bible. 516 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
o yeah, Nixon. The guy who ended the draft, the war, created many peace treaties between potential enemies, and started food stamps. what a bastard. LBJ, another asshole, the guy who helped civil rights, created medicaid and medicare, helped the poor. no one liked HIM, but they loved JFK, who was too passive to get shit done. Abraham Lincoln they called a tyrant and socially awkward. so why, FOR FUCKIN' SAKES WHY, do people really care about "who's more passionate, who's the bigger asshole?" They're both politicians, they both are taught all day on how to bullshit (and they do it quite well based on the results, especially Obama, when people say "yeah, McCain has a better tax plan, but Obama seems like a stronger leader, so i'll vote for him"). actually, it's kind of scary 8l 517 days ago | Tagged As: McCain
