Support SwimCityUSA - Bringing New Water to Illinois Swimmers

 

Swim City USA is a not-for-profit organization based in St. Charles, Illinois.

 SwimCityUSA.org

The purpose of the charity is to facilitate through fundraising and advocacy the building of a new indoor aquatics facility in the St Charles area.

The vision of the Board of Directors is simple - there is a market in Illinois which can be filled by creating a new community asset which would benefit local children and adults through enhanced recreation options while at the same time would have a tremendous, positive economic impact on the area.

Put simply, Swim City USA knows a once-in-a-generation market exists for some Illinois community and wants to direct a large community based effort to see the vision through without negative effects for the local tax payer.

Join us in this effort as we strive to create a lasting positive impact on your community.

Swimming in IL is a BIG thing and it's unbelievable we have such inadequate facilities at this time in this area! Wisconsin for championship meets, high school state meets in old pools with poor seating. Our competitive and noncompetitive swimmers need this!

My daughter swims and local pool time is limited. Young kids are forced to swim late and alternate locations many times. Also, practice can get cancelled due to High School activities. Having a facility such as this would certianly bring positive attention and monetary benefits to not only St. Charles, but the entire Fox Valley.

For so many of us, swimming was much more than just a sport and the pool was more than a hole in the ground with water in it. Swimming facilitated life long friendships with incredible people and was a guiding force that opened doors to opportunities I never thought possible. Swimmers, no matter how skilled, are able to gain personal satisfaction from knowing that they have worked to better themselves and their teammates. Swimming demands discipline, perseverance, self awareness, team work, and time management from it's participants, all essential life skills. Creating this aquatic facility is not only important for the thousands of current Illinois swimmers, but also so that we may extend the innumerable benefits this sport has to offer to an underserved community.

Before moving to Alabama we lived in St. Charles for 8 wonderful years. During this time, our daughter Nikki swam for both SCEast and later for SCNorth High Schools. Then as an All American at SCN... Nikki was offered an opportunity to swim for the University of Kansas on scholarship. Her experiance in the SCN pool was an invaluable asset for her college career and for her life. Swimming like other major sports is the key to building discipline and character.... and can change the lives of parents and children every day. And while I realize that not living in SC any longer may minimize our impact here.... we can say without doubt, that the swim progams in SC changed our families life for the better....
