You want to sell your domain but you don't know how to find your site worth? Read this

When looking for to use a site worth on your own site, there are several ways to figure it out. Since most potential buyers are going to be focused on the current income of the website, it is best to start there. But there are several steps that can help you get a general idea of your website valuation at the present moment.

  1. Compare

First of all, try to find websites that are similar to your website. Look at all of their pieces such as income, target audience, etc. Many websites offer listings that will show how much those sites sold for. The closer website you can find to your own the better idea you will get to how much yours is worth. It is best to look at several sites, or as many as you can find that are close to yours and average their prices. That will give you more of an idea for what websites like yours are selling for, but also it will show you where you can push your price.

  1. Revenue

Many buyers will look to see what your website is currently making in income. If you have a long track record of making a good, consistent amount of money, your website valuation will be higher. A buyer might offer to add your most recent 6 months or a year of income, and double that for an offer. The longer you can show that your website has been making money, the higher the offer.

  1. Traffic

The amount of people looking at your website can be very valuable, even if you are not directly monetizing it. A lot of people coming to your site mean that the potential to get those people to buy is much higher. Since traffic can take a long time to build, these websites offer a higher value simply out of potential.

  1. Running Site Value

This is the amount of money that it took to build your website. Anyone could hire a web designer to recreate a website, but having one that is already successful and driving traffic to it is a commodity that is hard to calculate exactly but is very valuable. To achieve this, your website must have an easy to navigate and interesting design, and must utilize general SEO practices.

  1. Customers

This is another hard factor to attach an easy money value to. It strongly depends on your existing traffic, but also how your website is growing. This is measuring how many repeat viewers you have in your traffic. Your loyal following can add up to a lot if you were to ask them to buy, or if you were to implement something like Ad Words that will pay you based on views.

All of these steps will get you close to just how much your site worth would be. Though it is impossible to calculate it down to an exact dollar amount, by showing these steps in a proposal or buying guide, you could persuade a possible buyer into paying more than his initial asking price.
