Yes, I believe government is necessary for our everyday lives to be able to run properly. Although life without a government sounds amusing, the undeniable truth is people need government to function and to feel safe. Without government, chaos, war, crime, and monopolies over industries could take place. Eventually, we would even lack a safe water supply and clean food sources. This could all happen because if government did not exist, the "chores" the government does would not be completed either. To prevent all this from happening, the people decide to give up some of their rights to the government in return for security, this is called the "Social Contract Theory".
