Government is absolutely necessary and has been in practice since the creation of humans themselves and will continue shaping the lives of us until our extinction. Even if a government suddenly collapses and chaos ensues with violence and uncertainty, groups of people will unite together and start to create a social hierarchy that will eventually lead to the creation of a primitive government. For this reason, government is obligatory due to the fact humans have an innate calling for the organization that government provides. Furthermore, it is difficult to comprehend the important role that government plays in our lives. One of the most important roles of government is to ensure the safety of the people, which the government does in many aspects such as providing us with clean drinking water, food regulations, transportation laws, welfare for people who need it, low income housing, laws on violence, crime control, and vast gamuts of regulations that keep us safe. Government also keeps peace throughout a country with a set of checks and balances and providing the people with a voice that can rebuke laws that they deem as unfair. Courts also allow for the people to even challenge laws and regulations proposed by the government if they feel as though their voice is not heard enough. Though there are many different types of government, from a democracy, republic, oligarchy, dictatorship, monarchy, or any other formal structure in society, there is a truth that remains, government provides order that keeps a nation prosperous and avoids anarchy. So if you find yourself asking if government is necessary, think about how government allows us to take even the simplest of things for granted.
