Government is necessary for society to function. People might be able to survive without government, but life would certainly be a lot worse. For example, there would be no public schools, roads, parks, and there would be no restrictions on what you put in food. One of the biggest effects, though, would be there would be no money. People would have to barter for everything. Without the need for money, there would be no big companies, only people making their own products at home. Also, there would be a huge rise in crime; people could just take what they wanted if they were physically dominant over you. With this wave of crime would come a lot of private gun ownership and a rise in vigilantism. As you can see, the world would descend into chaos without the government.
