I believe that government is necessary for a number of reasons. First, I believe that humans are imperfect and need a group of people to oversee them. Due to human nature, if we were to get rid of government, it is likely that a person or a group of people would gain power and eventually abuse their power. Humans can be greedy,which can lead to conflict, so we need guidelines to be put in place to maintain order throughout our population. We need a government that can share power within the people (Example: Democracy), where the people have a say in their government but are still overseen by laws and protocol. Also, without government it would be incredibly difficult to find and try the wrongdoers in our society and could possibly lead to a higher amount of criminal activity. Finally, we need government to help us achieve everyday jobs and protect our people by maintaining and controlling the quality of our drinking water, collecting trash, educating students in public schools, educating schools state colleges, and regulating our food. Without government, I strongly believe that it would be difficult for our country to function and be successful as a whole.
