I disagree with this. While you are right that it is necessary to pay taxes, it is an example of an individual's worth in the basic acts of democracy. It is necessary to pay the taxes to cover the costs of other's jobs such as firemen and policemen. Also without a government, these jobs would not even exist. The voluntary work you say others would complete is risky. You having faith that others would risk their lives in some cases to save others who they may not even know. While some might, others would rather save themselves. Also, let's say that there was a fire. While some might be willing to put the fire out, there would most likely be chemicals found in the water because the government is the one who cleans and filters the water. With these chemicals, the reaction with the fire and heat could make it worse, ultimately killing more people. Although you have a strong argument, I cannot agree with you and I believe we need a government to keep a strong, healthy, and united nation.

A government is an organized system, where a group of individuals are given the responsibility to help maintain a peaceful coexistence on behalf of the citizens. Without a government daily life would be chaotic and dangerous. Simple and underappreciated ways of life would be gone. First of all, water would be contaminated, which, when consumed, could cause sickness. The government enforces certain health precautions so foods such as dairy, fruits, and vegetables could have pesticides and other harmful chemicals in them.

Also, the government protects citizens rights. Without them, the peace that they maintain would be gone. Crime rates would increase since there would be no consequences enforced by a higher authority, such as the police.

When you are sick, you visit a doctor. Without a government, you cannot be sure whether or not the doctor, or any other health specialist you go see it certified and will provide you with healthy and safe medication. Also when buying medications, or any other type of good, the government checks to make sure you are not being charged too high or too low for your purchase.

All in all, I believe a government is necessary for the United States. Without it, life would be chaotic, unhealthy, and unorganized.
