Yes! Both Russia and the United States gained many benefits from this agreement. Not only did Russia need: 1) An effective and efficient way to reduce debt 2) To focus their time and resources on other areas, but the United States gained: 1) Long and short term resources and benefits 2) A large amount of land at an economical price 2) Security on their Western front. Both superpowers gained what they needed at the time, and avoided future conflict and difficulties over Alaska.
