I believe that media can have a positive effect on politics if it is used responsibly. Politicians are now constantly watched by the entire world. And with the increasing democratization of our country over the course of history, it is even more important that voters are informed. However, it media is also a tool to hold politicians accountable for their actions. Before mass media, leaders could get away with considerable scandal and the public would be none the wiser. Nowadays, almost everything the government does is available for public view and distribution. For example, WikiLeaks recently published controversial stories under the Freedom of Information Act.
