Ah, so the solution is to get rid of women! Personally, I've never actively motivated any guy to prove his masculinity to me by committing a crime. And then there's the case of domestic abuse and rape. Are you saying that the wife of an abusive husband has somehow done something to deserve getting beat up?
Really, why should it matter? Is being the child of a gay couple really worse than having no parents at all? It's just cruel not to afford a parent-less child every opportunity to have a caring and supportive family. There are too many kids without parents to turn down a couple on the basis of their sexual orientation.
I just don't really see any practical need for them during school. Your friends are all in the same place you are, so why do you need to text them? I think it's just a distraction. Of course, I'm not against taking them to school with you, because I think kids should have one in case there's an emergency. But is it really that hard to keep it turned off and keep it in your pocket during class?
If people were able to opt out of everything that is 'unhappy' or 'frustrating', no one would go to work, pay their taxes, or raise their children. Doing things that you don't want to do is just a fact of life and those things often end up benefiting you in the long run. Personally, I find nothing wrong with giving kids an obligation like school and holding them accountable for doing what's necessary to fulfill that obligation. It's called responsibility.
The only thing that is likely to happen is people freaking out over the end of the world. Maybe some running around, then yelling and the realization that "Hey, the sky's NOT falling." Yay!
So, I guess if an asteroid falls on my head in 2012, then I deserve it.
No. And it's not a question of "Is it natural" or "Is it a choice"? It's a matter of affording the same rights to all American citizens. Why? Because we're America and it's supposed to be "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" not "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of a Set Type of Happiness We Deem Acceptable"
