It is unethical and inhumane to cage animals in labs with the sole purpose of using experimental products that could lead to their suffering. Animals are used because they are biologically similar to humans. Let's take rats for example, yes we humans are similar to them and this somehow permits us to use them as...well,lab rats, with the notion that if the product does not affect the rats negatively then it is safe for us humans. the FDA's statistics state that only 8 percent of drugs that are tested and screened have the chance of reaching the market. With such high percentage of failures, it is unwise to trust those 8 percent that reach the market.
