In today's society, we are too dependent on computers.People are losing their ability to function without a computer. We no longer worry about what we are writing or typing because we all use a word processing program that has spellchecker and checks for grammar mistakes. So as you can see we depend on computers too much and are losing our ability to memorize, type, spell, or even write a grammatical correct sentence. In many countries students no longer have to copy notes by hand from the blackboard; instead the teacher gives them a photocopy. Rather than messy ink and pen, students present a typed-up copy of their assignments.
In my opinion, spelling skills have definitely deteriorated in recent years. So many young people use mobile phones to send text messages where speed and conciseness are more important than spelling or grammar. Some teachers complain that these students take the same attitude toward their assignments.
Also , people take the benefits of computers for granted and turn it into bad things. For example , young teens get addicted to computer games and this addiction in turn brings about harmful consequences , the worst being death. The baby of a computer , the laptop , causes radiation to human skin , 'toasting' our skin , when we prop it on our lap.
Being dependent on computers is a bad thing cos with it , people turn to internet buying instead of shopping in real life malls. In future , there could even be no more more malls , and even grocery shopping will take place online. Its just that serious.
