I think it's only the open minded that actually read and inwardly digest the subject matter of the debate as opposed to just the title.
Considering you actually went to the trouble of defining what you meant by 'really debate', "discuss the topic and make a desicsion on the outcome", I find it curious that so many are willing to defend the narrow minded on the grounds that they will not change their minds in a debate.

If they've been at war since 1949 then you might have a point. They get money because, due to their geographic location, they prove a strategic ally, not because anyone admires their 'principals'.

The UK is in a similair plight. Mass production? Most of it's gone already, the rest within the decade. Tops.
There's plenty of manual labour that needs doing 'on site' or locally. I can't see anyone completely subbing out the labour sector. I can't see the Duke of Edinburgh wearing tartan made in India, can you?
Having said that, there's a distinct possibility that costs at home will rise to such an extent that some hard decisions will have to be made by most others.
Temporarily. We're all caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place, at the pretty much the same time. One might almost think it were by design.
I'd have gone with, "As long as we think we're right, we think we'll be safe", but I don't mean to detract from what you've said there. ;)
I'm taking a pummeling here people. Could someone educate me as to the pros of leaving your government unrestricted when it comes to spending your money/ your kids money, before you've even earned it?
