Mandatory voting directly violates freedom of choice, Many individuals whom are either disinterested or uneducated about political topics and candidates choose not to vote. Forcing them goes against Liberal core values of individual freedoms. Not only would this be contradictory for a liberal government to enforce, it would be inimical to the democratic environment. High voter turnout does not justify ignorant voting, If an individual does not wish to vote. Forcing them to vote causes parties to seize control using their misinformed knowledge as a means of entering the political scene. More votes will not increase the legitimacy of a government. It is foolish to think that forced input would result in legitimacy Compulsory voting would also increase the amount of money spent in law enforcement costs through courts and enforcing of the said law. Mandatory voting will be a detriment to the stability of a government and in the end cause misfortune to all those affected whenever they be political figures or regular citizens.
