It really depends on your interpretation of the subject. For one, I believe in the Many Worlds theory, where there are an infinite amount of possibilities of how we came to be. Obviously, we can only live in one universe at a time (or maybe not, if you search for the Mandela effect) so there's a few theories of how the universe was born. The different aspects kind of depend on religion, however, so I have no definitive answer for this, but i do believe that the scientist's version of "big fucking explosion" should suffice. For now.
