Okay, I think the best way to explain this is by using a small scenario:
Two men are trapped. One is very strong, and one is very intelligent. They are in a cupboard full of assorted items. A fire has started outside the door, and the ceiling has caved in outside, making it so you cannot open the door. So, the strong man would probably start trying to open the door, pushing on it, making a few holes in the door, and maybe injuring himself in the process.
The smart man, though, would probably remember that the flaming stove outside, the source of the fire, is directly beneath the ventilation shaft, which leads into the cupboard they are in now. And, he might even notice that there is a large container full of water in the corner of the room.
The strong man, you see, could also be a little bit smart, and using common sense, he could lift the bottle of water and pour the water down the ventilation shaft, stopping the fire. But then where would that leave him? Still trapped.
The smart man could build a pully system to lift the water into the ventilation shaft, pour it down, and escape through the shaft.
Therefore intelligence is better. :)
Homework, as someone said above me, is good because it teaches people responsibility and time management. Also, homework is basically repeating something you have already done, a lot of the time, and doing things over and over again can get them stuck in your mind.
Homework is also good for the teacher. It shows them whether they taught the students correctly, or whether they need to go over a few things, plus it can add the same effect for the student, incase they need to ask the teacher to go over a few things with them. So, to conclude, homework is practice. Practice makes perfect. Practice for tests makes for good results, resulting in a good job to support yourself or your family in later life.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
