First and foremost, co-ed schools provide an environment that single sex schools does not provide. Co-ed school allows interaction with the opposite sex. This environment does benefit students and this may be a form of practice so that they can learn how to interact with them when they go to JC or work. This is definitely an environment single sex school cannot provide as most students spend more than half the time they are awake in school.

Secondly, many think that single-sex school students perform better in education that co-ed school students. However, I believe that it does not affect students much as long as students do not get distracted. Moreover, academic research conducted in the United States, Canada in the United Kingdom by such entities as the Department for Children, Schools and Families has found that single-sex education does not produce better achievement outcomes than coeducation. A study conducted by the U.S. Department of Education also concluded that there was no evidence that students in same-sex school performed better than their co educational counterparts.
