New Zealand has a very green image and it is well known for having disease free and safe meat. I can't say that factory farming is worse than free-ranged or organic. It creates just as must pollution for the environment as free-ranged and can supply a cheaper option for meat. Saying that factory farming is 'cruel' is kind of silly because don't like animal cruelty then you shouldn't be eating meat. Either you justify how it is moral to raise an animal to kill it or you justify way it isn't and then you condemn the whole meat industry, not just factory farms. The meat that is sold has no antibiotics in it as there is a withdrawal period where farmers cannot give antibiotics before slaughter. Plus, they don't give the same antibiotics as humans have so we cannot become resistant to diseases anyway from eating meat. Overall, it makes not logically sense for farmers to treat animals poorly as they are part of their business and it is their job to look after and raise their flock. So until we all become vegans, don't tell me that factory farming is bad. Farming is farming and more people are eating meat so we need more of it
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
