I do not think Russia should've sold Alaska. I think this because even though Russia was in major debt because of the several wars they were in, there was plenty of undiscovered land that could've had very valuable resources. The Russians had only explored the coast line of Alaska so how do they know there is no resources left? Also, Alaska was not their land in the first place. The Russians had never bought the land from the natives so it was not thier right to sell it, even if it was a good idea.
