Aerial photos were the best innovation that the Canadians made, this allowed the soldiers to see where everything was positioned, such as artillery, German soldiers, and where the German trench ended and began. This also aided in which direction that the Canadians should send their soldiers to raid the trench. This helped the Canadians secure Vimy Ridge because the Germans had the upper hand of seeing everything, aerial photos were the same thing.
