i'd have to say If it's not physical, it's not a sport, it's just a game... car racing shouldn't be classed as sport either
MMORPG's are pretty slow paced and boring in my experience, i'd much rather play video games for the fast pace.. plus most online gamers are just trolls out to piss everyone off, just like the rest of the internet lol
not to mention the profits they make on tax for most of those things, and they're probably afraid of the uproar it would cause
