Although the geneticist responsible for the research has claimed that she had obtained permission for wider-ranging genetic studies, the people of the Indian tribe were clearly unaware of what their DNA was being used for. Even though researchers did use the blood samples to find helpful data and useful information, the people of the Indian Tribe definitely had the right to know about it. People should have the opportunity to volunteer to give there blood for scientific research, not unknowingly forced to.
