You did not state your evidence. It may be that only a small percentage of the society does this. Technology helps us do things faster but it does not make us lazier. It just makes our lives simpler. Technology helps us do things faster but it does not cause laziness. It is our choice whether to be lazy or not. Like you said, it is during our leisure time, it doesn't affect us negatively as we are doing it in our leisure time. If we only do this when we are in our leisure time, it doesn't affect our work or our studies at all. In the older times, they lived close to each other and is allowed to go out and play all the time. Now, we are living further away from each other and we have difficulty meeting and finding a time where both parties are free and their parents might not necessary allow them to go out all the time. So meeting online and playing games together or chatting on the phone is how they stay connected each other when they are far apart or do not see each other. So i think that it is more of a boon than a bane.

I agree that technology is more than a boon than a bane to society. Technology has helped the society in more ways than one. It helped us make our work easier, faster and more efficient. For example, we used to send letters in the past. it takes up alot of time and takes very long to be delivered to the adresse and it is also much more expensive if you want to send to other countries or even within your own country. Now, technology has created the modern handphones we are using now, and when we want to send something to another person, it costs less than sending letters, and the messages can be delivered to the person no matter how far the person is and they can get it in only a few seconds time.It saves time and also costs less.

Also, we can use mobile phones now to go to the internet to pay the bills, surf the internet anywhere or anytime. 86% of mobile users are watching TV while using a mobile phone, 200+ million (1/3 of all users) access Facebook from a mobile device and 91% of all mobile internet use is “social” related. Handphones had helped us stay "connected" to each other even when they do not see each other so it saves the trouble of going out to meet each other everytime they have something to say to each other. So i agree that technology is more of a boon than a bane to society.
